Plant-based Powerhouse: PLNT Burger Opens Third New York City Location

PLNT Burger, the plant-based, fast-casual restaurant concept that’s redefining America’s classic comfort foods, is announcing its third location in New York City seated in the popular Bryant Park neighborhood (11 West 42 St.). It’s the third of existing New York locations, including Union Square (139 4th Ave. @ 13th St.) and Nomad (1147 Broadway@ 26th St.).

From PLNT Burger’s early days of opening its very first location in Whole Foods Market in Silver Spring, Maryland, its mission has remained crystal clear: to bring people joy through delicious food that has the power to change the world. And they’re living it.

Though PLNT Burger is celebrating its third location in NYC, the quick-service restaurant now has 14 total locations along the east coast. The new stand-alone Bryant Park location is part of an ongoing national expansion goal. The Bryant Park location will operate 7 days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Celebrity Chef Spike Mendelsohn and the PLNT Burger team will be celebrating the new location’s grand opening on June 8th from 11 a.m. to close. Celebrations include a DJ set up, a prize wheel, giveaways, and free burgers for the first 100 guests.

Mendelsohn, who is widely known for being the season four Top Chef fifth-place finisher and PLNT Burger co-founder, says, “It’s an honor to bring the best tasting, chef-crafted food in the plant-based space to all our fellow foodies in New York.”

Chef Spike also touched on Mayor Adams's recent commitment to reducing the city’s food-based emissions saying, “Following the news of Mayor Adams requiring New York City public schools to serve 100% plant-based lunches on Fridays, we couldn’t have picked a better time to open our third PLNT Burger location as we encourage New Yorkers to ‘Eat the change they wish to see in the world’.”

PLNT Burger co-founder and CEO, Ben Kaplan, echoes this sentiment, “With chef-crafted, sustainable, and highly crave-able food at the forefront of our minds and menus, PLNT Burger is 100 percent aligned with Mayor Adams’ Corporate Challenge to reduce private sector food emissions by 25 percent.”
